"Fourteen year-old nicole would have never said a photographer was what I wanted to be when I grew up, but here i am– I love my job and wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world."

It started when my friends and I would bike to the beach after school with a backpack full of clothes, bikinis, props and a vision to remake Tumblr photos, posing and pretending like we were shooting for a magazine because we wanted to be "Tumblr famous" (if you don't know what tumblr is, think of it as if instagram and pinterest had a baby lol). after our shoot, we biked back home to download and edit the photos we took earlier that evening and created collages and mood boards to hang on our wall– hoping one day we'd live the lifestyle we only dreamed of.

to us, It was more than taking the photos— it was a creative outlet which we looked forward to after long days at school to get our creative ideas flowing. being tumblr famous back then was like being an IG influencer now, but the thing is, we didn't care about the fame or likes, we just had a burning desire to create and have fun. We made memories that we still talk about today which will honestly last forever– sounds absolutely cheesy, but it’s 100% true. 

I look back on those days and remember that those are the memories that I’ll have with me forever, and as time went on, the value and meaning in those photographs grew and the photos became a time capsule full of memories and emotion. 

I am extremely lucky to capture special moments for other people– whether it's celebrating life, love, or just another day that we choose to celebrate the gift of life–whatever it is, i am  grateful to capture these memories that you want to be remembered forever. one day you’ll have those photos to look back on and remember that special place or time in your lives that could’ve changed everything– just like mine.
